Introduction
My name is Rod Hatter, aka: Panhead Rod, and I enjoy writing traditional poetry, verse, prose, haiku, stories, songs and "old school" biker poetry. I have been called many things... Dad, soul mate, dreamer, humorous, deep, quite crazy and a wordsmith, just to name a few...
My works have been shared all across the land, through magazines, social media sites and on several websites. My poem, "She's a Chopper" was the inspiration for a song of the same name co-written and performed by international rock star, Pat Savage.
Some of my more famous poems are "Those Smilin' Angels", "Rumors" and "Serving from the Heart". If you have ever read any of these, then I feel honored to have shared these pieces with you. I do truly feel connected through my writing. The enthusiasm from my readers keeps me motivated to continue writing. I am currently working on several new books, and have much ambition for future endeavors... I really hope you enjoy my written words...
Most recently, I have been a featured poet on several radio shows through KXCR 90.7 Public Community Radio... I mentioned I would be doing a half hour show reading my biker poetry in honor of May being Motorcycle Awareness Month. It looks like the show, Community Conversations, will air on KXCR 90.7 FM radio or streaming on the internet at kxcr.net on both Tuesday, May 16th at 11:00 am and Wednesday May 17th at 5:00 pm. I hope you get a chance to tune in and I would love some feedback... A week after it airs, it may be available through the website's archives...

I am a story teller...
My poems have tales to tell...
Experiences related through verse...
Dreams I share...
Captured emotions...
Love of family and friends...
Natural escape...
Freedom...
Pondering problems...
Thoughtful notions come to mind...
Vision shared through ink...
Thriving to coexist...
Hopeful for global unity...
Politics be damned...
I'm a snaggle-toothed gray beard...
Seven decades racing 'round Sol...
I hobble when I walk...
while aging through the years...
Laughing off the pain...
Defeating agony... Enduring...
Literary work is my escape...
lifting my spirit...
For the sake of my children's children...
I try to stay positive...
Poetry may sometimes be dark...
Fate plays a role...
in both good and bad moments...
I've been through all aspects...
Been deceived...
Been defeated...
Felt lost...
Found solutions...
I finish most pieces with positive energy...
Writing down feelings fuels escape...
Tranquility...
Provides elation...
Inspiring...
As you read my lines...
you will see...
three dots is my trademark...
Each line serves a purpose...
Leaving intrigue...
Questioning reality...
Working to annoy...
Creating pause...
Announcing more to come...
...and beyond...
or simply making a final statement...
The End...
